This turmeric rice is so simple and pairs beautifully with my grilled prawns. It's super easy to make and could easily become your favorite side dish or even a main.
1 1/2 C jasmine rice
1/2 tbs turmeric powder
1 small onion, diced
3 tbs veg oil
Add oil to pan over medium heat. Allow oil to heat up then add onion. Fry onion until golden then add the turmeric powder and rice. Fry for 2 mins then add the water and salt. Taste and adjust salt. Allow rice to boil until all the water has evaporated then turn the heat to low and allow rice to cook until it reaches desired preference. Fluff rice with fork and serve with my grilled prawns or perhaps my Caramelized Mushroom or my Baked Snapper
